Athena’s Armor: A Benefit Art Show for Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana

We are seeking artists and breast cancer survivors to be part of an inspiring upcoming art show to support Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana and help fight breast cancer. The art exhibit, Athena’s Armor, will feature unique bust sculptures created from casts of breast cancer survivors.
For Survivors: We are looking for both women and men who are breast cancer survivors, including those who have had lumpectomies, mastectomies, or reconstructions. Survivors will be carefully cast with plaster-infused gauze from the clavicles to the navel. Once the casts are complete, local artists will take these molds and transform them into one-of-a-kind works of art using their individual styles and mediums. Casting dates will be March 2nd and 9th.
For Artists: We are also seeking talented local artists to generously donate their skills, transforming these casts into beautiful and meaningful works of art to be featured in the benefit show. Artists will collect their casting on April 1st, with the art pieces due for return on July 1st.
These finished busts will be silent auctioned off during a art exhibit on August 9th at East Ende Eclectic. There will be art, entertainment, food, and much more!. We encourage you to share, tag, and spread the word to help make this event a success.
